Thank you for visiting the Parker High School website! My name is Gerald Heder and I have the honor of teaching Science at Parker High School. I am also the advisor for both the Earth Club and HOSA Club. I grew up in East Los Angeles and spent many weekends enjoying the river here at Parker and consider myself a native of the desert area between L.A. and Parker. I love having the opportunity to teach the wonderful kids here at PHS and enjoy seeing them grow academically. I have a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Science Education and I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Education Curriculum Development. In addition, I am presently working with two research teams that are involved with National Organizations and Universities in studying my two favorite subjects: Geology and Astronomy. My geology project is in collaboration with grad students from the University of Oregon who are mapping and interpreting the Bouse Formation. My astronomy project is in collaboration with RECON for the identification and study of Kuiper Belt Objects. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns. My priority is student learning and providing a safe learning environment where students can strive to achieve their best. I encourage an open door policy and look forward to hearing from you!
