Raelee Merritt in her letter jacket flanked by leafy green trees

Hello everyone my name is Raelee Merritt, I am the 17 year old daughter of Randy and Tami Merritt. I have attended school at Parker High School all four years following my family's footsteps. I am very involved here at Parker High School, I am President of SkillsUSA and Youth4Youth, Vice President of NHS and a member of the yearbook staff. I am an athlete for the soccer and track teams and recently finished my fourth and final season of volleyball. I have had so many great memories here, most of them being with my vol-leyball team because being on volleyball resulted in my team be-coming a family and creating a long lasting bond. I will also remem-ber this place as the place where I discovered my passion for welding. After asking a buttload of questions, my welding instructor walked me through this new world and taught me that the skill was always there, all I had to do was take the step and be confident enough to do it. I have enjoyed my time here and learned a ton of valuable lessons and I'm sad that it's all going to come to an end but I can't wait to see what the future holds for me.After high school I will proceed to go to a four-year university, not sure where yet but I know I want to stay in state. I'm going to major in business and possibly attend another school for welding. I've already been preparing my transition by taking college classes in my free time. I want to finish off by thanking my parents for always being my biggest supporters and all my teachers and coaches who taught me many valuable lessons throughout the years. I am honored to have been presented with the December student of the month.
