Hello everyone,
I am Jaisveen Kaur, a junior at Parker High School and this year I was chosen to represent La Paz County at the Governor’s Youth Commission for the term 2022-23. The Governor’s Youth Commission is a diverse body of students all over Arizona who work with the Governor’s team on the issues we face in the society, specifically: Distracted Driving, Substance Abuse, Mental Abuse, Education and Domestic Violence. Throughout the year, all the workgroups work individually to create a project at the end of the year which shows what their team has done to make a change in society. I am working with the Distracted Driving group and our goal is to bring awareness about the serious consequences faced due to distracted driving. Being on the Governor's Youth Commission is a very fun learning experience and I would recommend and love to see more students representing La Paz county and working towards a change. In the end, I would like to thank Lillian Perez and the S Club due to which I came to know about the Youth Commission and applied for it. A big thank you to my parents, Pritpal Singh and Kuljeet Kaur, who have always been supportive and motivated me to accomplish more in life.
