Hello, my name is Miguel Maynard Briones, and I am a senior at Parker High School, as well as the Student of the Month for November, which I am very thankful for. I am the son of my amazing mother, Zenaida Briones Vega, and the brother of my two sisters, Ana and Alicia.
I am currently part of the HOSA and am the Secretary of Interact, both clubs being experiences that I have enjoyed greatly. Particularly, HOSA, as I was able to be part of a shadowing program, and had a lot of fun doing it, making me even more sure of the path I want to take after high school. Apart from clubs, I have also been part of track, cross country, and even tried out soccer last year. The memories of being in these sports are something I think back on fondly, as I’ve had a lot of fun being part of them.
I was not expecting to become Student of the Month for any month, to be honest. I think many deserve it more than I, and even my sister, Alicia, someone who I respect a lot for her academic achievements, was not able to become student of the month. High School, to me, has been one big blur of trying not to miss deadlines, get good grades, and stressing about the next exam. Though looking back on everything, I can say that I have enjoyed my time here.
After High School, I plan on entering University to get a bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences, and subsequently entering a med school to pursue a career in the medical field.
I have enjoyed my time at Parker High School, and although I’m nervous for what comes next, I'm excited to see what life has in store for me.
