Omar in a Parker High hoodie smiling in the sunshine near a tree

Hello! My name is Omar Larraga Soto. I am the son of Omar U. Larraga Trejo and Guadalupe Larraga Soto. I am honored to be your January Student of the Month. Crazy to believe I’m already in my Senior year of High School. I’ve been doing Football and Wrestling throughout high school. I’ve learned to be respectful and to always try to push through when things get tough. I’ve gained so many memories from these sports and will always cherish them. I am currently in two clubs, Youth 4 Youth and FBLA. I am also in Band and play two instruments, but my main one is the Baritone Saxophone.

Throughout my High School experience, I’d have to say it has been a crazy adventure. Every year was different and gave me new challenges to face. Everyone always had something to make the day different from before. I want to thank all my coaches and teachers for giving me a different perspective on how the real world is going to be. Even though I had some struggles in my classes, I gave it my best and was able to get straight A’s throughout high school. I try to always make my parents proud of me and keep them happy with the things I do in high school.

After I graduate high school, I’m going to trade school and get a degree in HVAC. I’m so happy and grateful to have my family. Without their love and support, I don’t know where I would be today. My advice to the younger classes, enjoy your high school days while you have them. Always be open to grow and try new things before it’s too late. The way high school ends for you is your choice.
